Speaking of Celine, I work in the company that actually distributes the brand in Malaysia, and yet I am nowhere closer to owning one for myself. Ah, such are the drawbacks of glorious luxury.

I feel so uninspired lately. I seem to have nothing to blog about these days. Everything is so routine now. Weekdays= wake up, go to work, come home, K.O. Weekends= wake up, chill, K.O.

In fact, typing the letters 'K' and 'O' now is making me realise that I am pretty darn KO-ed already. And it ain't even midnight yet!

So anyway, I just realised that my last real post before my 'comeback' was entitled 'Testimony in the Making'. Aptly so if I might add.

The testiomony did come, and I feel a sense of obligation to update on it and give praise to the One who gave me the breakthrough. The One being God, of course.

I finally found a job, at a well-known (-ish) respectable company, and have been working there for the past 3 months. Things thus far have been fairly good. Of course there are the up-moments and a fair share of down ones (sometimes super down), but what job is all rainbows and butterflies everyday? Honestly. Nonetheless, I still thank God for the opportunity to get a jump start on the journey that leads to much greater things. So here's to that [probably] winding road ahead!

But I'm back. And I'll TRY to be back. My days have mostly been filled with work. Okay fine that's an excuse. If I was a little more 'rajin' I'd still have time to blog..but we all know by now that I am anything but.

Really do appreciate those who've been asking me to update; saying you miss my outfit posts! So touched indeed! I was beginning to feel like an over self-indulgent person who cared too much about her own vanity! (Probably still true to an extent)

Well anyway, like I said, I'll try to keep the posts coming. And not just retire to my bed and watch tv shows as soon as I get home from work *shy glance towards the floor*

Testimony in the Making

So I'm still on the job hunt. You've been hearing me say that for months now haven't you? I know, I'm bored of hearing me say it myself.

It's tiring really. Always being filled with such sense of hope whenever I get an e-mail or I score an interview or I hear of friends who are able to help me but after it all I feel like I've still gotten nowhere. Don't get me wrong, I truly appreciate everyone who has been so supportive and so ready to assist me in any way possible, helping me make connections with people they know and what not.

All my friends tell me to just take this time and relax cos I'm definitely going to miss it once I start work. Others tell me I'm insane for stressing out about it even though I'm not really facing any pressure from my parents to start work immediately.

I've since cut back on that stress though..a lot. Because I finally figured out what it really meant to trust in God and His timing. I thought I knew what it meant back then, but I really didn't. I just knew it was the right attitude to adopt. Now though, I'm mostly alright with my current situation although of course sometimes it does get a little bit boring :)

I am always encouraged by the knowledge that a testimony will come from this soon. Of this I am sure. God really does like to show up and show off, and usually He does it when I least expect it. What a tease :)

So like Dory, I too will "just keep swimming, swimming, swimming" for now.

Before My Time Ends

The title isn't meant to be morbid. On the contrary, it's meant to stir on some uplifting, soul-searching thoughts. I'm currently halfway through my book, 'Eat, Pray, Love' by Elizabeth Gilbert and it's about a woman (the author herself) on a journey of self-discovery as she travels across three very culturally different countries. As the title of the book aptly suggests, she eats her fill (and more) in Italy, devotes herself to prayer in India, and I haven't reached this last section of the book yet, but I'm assuming she does a whole lot of lovin' in Indonesia. [I don't know how this ended up being a book review!]

So anyway, she does all these things that I'd never be able to imagine myself doing and it got me thinking, what would I want to do before my time here on earth is over? And so I made a list, as you do in such situations :)

In no particular order, I would like to:

1. Travel to a sickly romantic place like Paris, or Venice, or Rome (are only Europeans romantic?) and kiss like a teenager with my lover. Kiss as if no one is watching. (and no one probably is because they too are too busy sucking on their lovers' faces)

2. See at least one of my garment designs come to life- from my sketchbook to my wardrobe (or maybe even other people's wardrobes!)

3. Ride a hot air balloon :)

4. Cook a full three course meal from scratch. Dessert included!

5. Ride a tandem bike with my lover (preferably same said lover from #1) around a beautiful city (preferably also in the same sickly romantic places as in #1)

6. Witness the magical sight of turtles coming up to shore to lay their eggs. Also wouldn't mind witnessing little baby turtles as they struggle (oh so adorably) their way from shore to sea.

7. Catch Lifehouse live. This seems so petty, but I previously made a list of the bands/singers I had to watch live in my lifetime and I've managed to cross off most. Lifehouse is currently top of the uncrossed list.

Okay, I can't think of anything else for now. I'm sure more will come. I'm also sure that some will also seem less important ten years from now (like, maybe #7...maybe)

This is adorable! It's a 60 minute animation about a bachelor who finally manages to find love...in his dog, Tulip. I love any movie/book/(thing) that are about dogs and would buy/read/(whatever) it just because it's about a furry four- pawed friend :)

Don't know if I'd be able to stand a full 60 minutes of squiggly line animation though..

Chris and I attended his friend 's wedding last night so it was an excuse to pull out the new dress I got from my last trip to Australia! Hoorah!

The wedding was pretty sweet. They video-recorded the proposal process and played it for their guests to watch. I have to say, the groom really gave it his all. Now that's the kind of man to marry! *Coughcough*

This One's For The Boys

Actions speak louder than words. Everyone knows that, or at least everyone has heard that saying before. But you know what, sometimes, words scream the point across.

Maybe I'm not making sense. I'm talking about compliments, boys. Compliments to your lady, your special one, your love's duet (Enchanted fan, anyone?) Every girl likes to hear the occasional "You look beautiful" or "You're amazing" or to slightly more hippie-esque couples, "You're like, totally awesome babe" *Peace sign*

Us women are a slight paradox. We are complex yet simple. Complex in that we sometimes overthink/ read too much into something but simple in that it probably takes only a small gesture from our men to solve the problem. I'm referring here specifically to relationships.

Seriously. It can't be that hard to say a sweet thing right? To go the extra mile? Key words being 'the extra mile'. Women need more than just L'OREAL to feel worth it. They want their men to make them feel worth it. In fact, if their men aced that area, L'OREAL would probably run out of business. What's so difficult about saying a few words that you don't normally say anyway?

A girl could be confident in herself and the way she looks, but sometimes she just wants to hear it from you to know that you actually noticed that she did something to her hair, or that she's put on some make up, or she's bought a new dress. We do a lot of these things for you after all (although we hate to admit it), so shouldn't we at least be acknowledged for it?

I, myself, as a [happily] attached girl, think we should.

So anyway, still am jobless :) And after countless horror stories from my working friends, I would finish my off my previous sentence with "...and happily so."

Nonetheless, it doesn't mean the search stops. Have to start working eventually and the ever increasing guilt every time I want to purchase something with my parents money (again) is pressuring me likewise. Had an interview with Club 21 a few days ago and I think it went well. What happens from there, is an update away. We shall see :) Let's hope the next update starts off on a happy note!

I bought these pants a while back when I was in Sydney but only finally wore them last night for the first time. They make my ass look long, as do all back-unpocketed high-waisted pants do. Chris had a good time making fun of me saying "So how long did you go jogging for in these?" while casually tugging onto my pants. Harumph. I stand by my pants!

Just as every Croc sandal owner would say in defence at least once in their Croc-wearing days, "They're comfortable!"

Here's goodbye to guilt-free mid-afternoon movie-watching, do nothing (literally) days.

And HELLO! to active, aggressive hunting. Of the job sort.

It's lunch time in offices now, so I'm blogging before I start making calls and shaking people -or more appropriately, the phone- while screaming "HIRE ME!" Why is it always lunch time whenever I decide to pick up the phone and start my mission?!

I sent quite a number of resumes out in the weeks before I left to Australia for my graduation. I lugged 2 phones around with me everywhere I went in Australia. One with my old Aussie simcard..and the other for my Malaysian simcard so I can be always contactable by possible future employers! Turns out I really didn't need to be that contactable. No future employers rung up. Nor did any friends for that matter! I got plenty of 'buy-FOREX' texts messages though. Am going to need some cash before I can do buying of any sort. And am going to need a job to generate said cash.

People say I'm fussy. Fussy because I want to work in the fashion industry. Fussy because they recommend some other big companies for me to apply to and I say "It's okay, I'm not interested." Fussy because I have a goal in mind, and I'm taking the necessary steps to get there.

To them I say, "It's not fussiness, it's ambition."

(Okay fine. I say that in my mind. What I really say is "Ppppffft..Noo. No. I... no I'm not being fussy. It's ..goal..mind...I'm getting to goal. Achieve.....I...Whatever! Your face is fussy!")

Really though, it doesn't bother me what people say. My family has been supportive and that's what matters. (even though my parents do occasionally think they can nudge me into the business/banking realm) Chris too, has been supportive and such a dear in this whole process. He hears me ramble on about the things I'm aiming for and whine when the day is being less than encouraging to me. Probably all he really gets from me is "I like clothes!" but at least he tries :)

I know that these dreams of mine were put there for a reason. God gave me these dreams. He gave me something to be passionate about and I'm very grateful for that. The last thing I want to be is someone without a passion for anything. As to whether or not I achieve all these things I have in my mind, I don't know. I shall let Him lead me on the map He has drawn out for me.

It's 2 pm. Lunch time should be almost over. Time to start hunting down my prey. Speaking of prey, PRAY for me! (Har-har. Admit it. I tickle your funny bone sometimes)

On a side note, I stumbled upon a very pleasant discovery today! Frankie Magazine is sold in Malaysia! Oh baby, baby, baby wooo! I only came across this wonderful Aussie-born magazine during the later part of my stay in Melbourne, so I only have about 2-3 copies. I thought that now I've returned, I will no longer get to swim in it's colourful pages filled with whimsical art, glorious fashion and interesting articles.

But here you are, Frankie. Back in my arms. Oh how I love you. Definitely is more of a pinch paying RM30 compared to AUD9 though, but certainly worth every penny!

15 Years And Counting

Yup. 15 years and counting of wonderful friendship. We've all known each other since we were little kids at 7! Now, we're all grown up and 22. (but I know all of us still carry that little piece of the 7-year-old in us)

A good catch up it was, last night. One filled with bittersweet memories and joyful reminiscing. We've not all stuck together throughout the years. Some went to different schools. Others just made different friends. But at the end of the day, bring us back together and it's like nothing ever changed :)

Heading East

Last weekend marked my first time ever on East Malaysian soil. Sarawak, specifically. For some reason while I was there, I kept referring to West Malaysia as a completely different country. You guys know the feeling?

"Oh..they don't have this in Malaysia!" Hang on, I still am in Malaysia. I feel guilty to be so disconnected from my country's counterpart. Foreign, even.

Well anyway, this first visit was a good start to knocking down that barrier. In many ways, it actually felt more '1 Malaysia' there. I'd rather not state why lest I get into trouble with some... certain authorities :) Peace I declare and pictures I leave with you.

Cat monument. Our tour guide was going through the entire history of why Kuching was named as such but I got slightly distracted by that darned giant cat and the insane heat in the van we were in. I think it was named after the river? Eugene Ting, care to clarify? Haha. Speaking of which, Eugene, I kept looking out for possible 'Ting residences'. I was curious to see where you lived! I spotted a 'Ting & Ting Supermarket' (or something like that). Family business you never told me about? Haha.

My parents and I were there with a few of my dad's colleagues. My dad was the only guy; the thorn among roses.

Semenggoh Wildlife Centre. There's hundreds of acres of land in this particular wildlife centre but it's home to a mere 27 orang utans. The figures say a lot about this diminishing species. And such a shame too, cos they're adorable!

Feeding time. If I'm not mistaken, this female orang utan is named Delima. As for her baby, I'm not too sure.

My passport to the Cultural Village. Basically a huge piece of land filled with the different man-made houses of the various tribes in Sarawak. Loved this place! The houses they lived in are amazingly built and structured. Of course, the ones I went into were just for display and no one actually lives in them.

A little bit of a pottery class. This guy can make a clay goodie in just 2 seconds. Swift hands I tell you, swift! I tried my hands at it. Failed miserably obviously. Would rather not document my embarrassment here.

So there it is. A tiny part of Borneo that I can check off my map of "Places to Visit". Probably should start travelling around the rest of West Malaysia too. Any takers? :)

Hello funnychubbybunny :) It's been a while hasn't it? Far too long perhaps? Apologies. Well I'm back. And I hope to stay. For... a while.

My days since my return to Malaysia have just been filled with family, friends and food. 3Fs. But of course there are also other non F-related activities. Okay that sounded wrong. I honestly didn't mean it. Haha.

No, but seriously. Aside from the 3Fs, I've been bumming. Did some resume sending. Attended an interview. Declined the job offer (Yeah I got it on the spot! High-5!) Now I'm currently taking a little step back from job-hunting. I realised that I have the rest of my youth (and then some) to work so no rush, ey?

This blog is hereby...REVIVED.

So exams are long over and I've been MIA. My bad. I've had such a beautiful holiday so far. Chris came for a visit straight after my last exam and arrived just in time for my birthday which is just the cherry on the top. Hung out with my bro and sister-in-law before they moved for Perth. I'm glad I'm also leaving Melbourne soon, else I think I'd be feeling a little lonely without them around anymore.

Journey

In Australia, I grew in Christ. I learned about myself. I learned about the God who loves me so dearly. I discovered that through Him working in me, I could do so many things I never knew I could. He turned my "No, I can't!"s into "Yes, I will!"s. He taught me to be a leader to many, a sister- in- Christ to even more, and a friend to all. These things I will forever cherish and hold in my heart.

In Australia, I had to grow up. I was forced into situations that I had to handle on my own and oh boy, handle them on my own, I did! It was good to be take that first flight off the nest. No more mommy and daddy to rescue me. Just me, my decisions and my own consequences. These things I will forever cherish and hold in my heart.

In Australia, I found dear friends. Ones I could laugh with, ones I could cry with (although being the happy-go-lucky girl that I am, there weren't very many crying moments anyway...but I know they will be there if I were to bawl my eyes out) Some I will remain friends with, some I'm bound to lose touch with, but all of them will I cherish and hold in my heart.

In Australia, I found love. And in an unexpected way too! Long-distance, schmong-schistance. Look how far we've come! YKILU. In him I found a confidante and a best friend. Oh, and in him I found the perfect hugs! :) Happily ever after? Who knows? But still I will forever cherish Chris and hold him in my heart.

Bought my ticket last night for the 24th of July. Will be returning for my graduation again in September. Oh job applications are in my near future! Woe is me! No actually, I'm quite excited. Because I have these dreams I want to achieve, and I wanna finally get moving on them!

Joy! I have finally finished all assignments for this semester! The past month has been tiresomely filled with annoying essays. Feels so good to be able to just kick back..and relax. (for now)

Hello everybody! Missed me? Mwehehe. I haven't been updating cos there really hasn't been much going on lately. No inspired thoughts either, so no 'articles'. Privatised my blog for a bit just cos I was too lazy to update :)

Week 12 already! Just one more week left before uni life officially ends for me. Excited yet sad. I'm really going to miss the people whom I've come to know and love here in Melbourne. But I guess that's how it is. You always have to move on. Here's to bigger, better things!

I feel extremely inarticulate today. After forming what seemed like a gajillion sentences for my essays, I really don't feel like thinking of flowery words and phrases to write anymore.

Random: Tried tying a scarf around my head as a hairband. Kinda like it but I'm not sure if I'd be bold enough for this in public for fear that I might be mistaken for a 15 year old. Had to tuck all the silly tassles into the loops of the bow..some obviously got free!

Please don't come, winter! I beg of you!

Sigh. As much as I'd love the weather to stay cool forever, I think I'd be even more worried if winter really doesn't ever come. Global warming is such a quick-moving beast, it's scary.

I've become much of a poser as of late huh? Okay, I've always been a bit of a poser..just not publicly. This is fun though. It's nice when you get exactly the pictures you wanted, while unnecessarily documenting what you wore. Anyway, my readership has been dwindling so it's mostly for my eyes! Quite a relief :)

That's how a personality test once described me. And it hit the nail right on the head. I am indeed someone who looks back on the past a lot. Not in regret, but in deep gratitude and joy.

I'm a walking paradox I think. I want to move forward so badly because I have all these hopes and dreams that I'm aiming for yet at the same time, I want to be a little girl again, hopping about frivolously without a care in the world. I love every memory I had as a child growing up. Some are especially distinct, some not so much. I wish I could be Peter Pan sometimes. But then again, where's the fun in never growing up? See, I am a paradox.

University life (student life, technically!) is about to end for me in a mere 9 weeks, give or take. And then what? Every 'next step' prior to this has always been so certain, so straight-forward. Kindergarten, primary school, secondary school, college and then uni. Voila. Not much thought necessary. I already have my goals engraved deeply into my mind. The pathway to those goals however, I'm not so sure. I guess it's just something I'll work out along the way. It's always comforting to know that He is there though. In every decision, in every circumstance, there is no need for fear. (just ample trust!)

I'm excited for what's ahead. I really am. Somewhere deep down, I know I have all the makings of a successful woman. Charisma, wisdom, independence. All just waiting to be honed to their full potential.

So let's see where my parodoxical feet take me.

Went to DFO with my parents for some guilt-free shopping. (Win!) Lovely weather aye, mate?!

I'm lovin' my weekend! Am at my brother's place in Berwick, with my parents who are visiting :) I love having them around to chum-chum (Don't ask me what that means. I don't really know either, I just made it up but I think it sounds apt and filled with meaning. Ironically) with.

Took some shots around my brother's. I can't wait to decorate my own house in the future! I hope I have enough funds to realise all these ideas I have. One thing I'm definitely going to need, a 'creativity room'. A room I can escape to, that I can design however I like. Where I can start projects...and end them after I get bored. Yes yes, that is a must :)

Went about town of course. HarHar at my dad's eyes.

Easter Bunny Time

Been up to heaps (except studying) this Easter! Hence the disappearance :)

First it was Easter Camp at Coonawarra Farm Resort. Beautiful beautiful. The place was 4 hours away so we had a nice bonding bus ride trip together, us Claytonites. Getting reception at the place was a pain though. Living without my phone for 4 days was rather tough. And apparently so too for everyone else who was lifting their handphones to the sky while walking around, in hope of just that single bar of reception. I, obviously, was one of them. But it's okay. It's good to get away from all those distractions sometimes, especially when camp is a time to focus on God.
Although, with enough searching (and the right handphone), I managed to find the perfect spot with 3 bars! *shy*

Brought my bear-bear hoodie with me. Hardly ever wear it around 'cos I feel a bit embarrassed. These are the things you buy in Korea (or any other holiday spot for that matter) because the girls looked cute in them and you think you would too...and then you end up wondering when you'd ever wear it.

Went canoeing! Paid only AUD 1.20 after dividing the cost by all of us! Joy :)

AND THEN! Lin and I went to Camberwell and it was DA BOMB. I got 2 gorgeous scarfs for AUD1 each! A Supre dress for AUD2, a pair of shoes for AUD2.50, and the zebra maxi for AUD22 (cos this one's brand new). I love ALL my buys! Hearts :)

Got a cardi from Friends of Couture for only AUD20! Super cute poodle prints :) This one's not from Camberwell though.

Had a good Easter! As you can tell from the photos.

Growing Pains

It has finally dawned on me that I shall be turning 22 this year. I am now ready to confidently (albeit reluctantly) respond with an "I'm 22" when posed with the inevitable question, "How old are you?"

Ugh. Twenty two. Dua puluh dua. I was hit with a big bang the moment I stepped through the open doors of the "twenties". It's not that I fear I'm growing old because well, obviously I'm considered to be very young when compared with the average adult in this aging population. Nono, that is not my predicament, if it can be even called as such. Rather, it's my inability to continue hiding and seeking refuge behind my teenage mentality. ( Chris would beg to differ on that 'cos to him, I'm still stuck in childlike mentality. Chris can also go eat poo. YKILU ^-^)

I can picture all of you over 25 now (if any) cursing under your breath, fists clenched. "What does she have to complain about?!" Please, relax. Crow's feet are never trendy unless you're 40 and up. Honestly, I don't know what I have to complain about either. Perhaps we should just ignore everything I just said.

I digress! Uni starts again in a week and a half! (Well actually, it starts in 4 days but I'm missing first week as usual!) It's hard to believe that all my 17 years of studying is finally coming to a halt in roughly 5 months. Then I shall don the horrendous square tassled hat and step into the next phase; slavery. Oh sorry, I meant work.

Nah just kidding. I'm sure I'll get a fine job. Hopefully one I enjoy? Hopefully one that brings me closer to my goal?? I don't know????? *Panics* Whatever it is, I'm not someone who's ever going to settle for something I don't love. I want to do...extra :)

It's almost time. It's like every little good memory from home attaches itself onto my heart and dangles on a rope, making it heavier and heavier the closer I get to the day. For the first time though, I can picture the end. So that's good.

I'm choc full of drama. If nothing above made sense, don't bother. I just whine (especially) a lot everytime I'm about to leave home for Melbourne. Amidst all that whining though, I do have the occasional pop of excitement, like little bubbles bursting! I get excited when I think about seeing my friends again, about doing little day trips, about shopping, and believe it or not, about studying.

I need more bubbles.

On another note, how was YOUR Chinese New Year? ( Don't know why I bother posing a public question since nobody ever really answers except in their minds)

Mine has been different ever since a couple of years ago when my grandpa passed away. Chinese New Year used to mean Kluang (Johor), new clothes, lotsa angpau, ransacking and thrifting for goodies at my grandpa's everyday-goods shop, blackjack, dinners in restaurants, dinners at grandpa's and grandma's, dinners at uncle's, bloating as a result of all those dinners.

We don't really do any of those any more. I don't even go new year's clothes shopping anymore! Okay fine, to be fair, when I was younger I never shopped as much as I do now. So technically, I 'new year' shop once every few weeks now. But still, everything was just different. We did go back to Kluang this year again after so many years. Not. The. Same. No reunion. Not as festive. I miss it. Ah well.

Gift hunting for men is so difficult. Why can't guys be satisfied with a cute teddy bear or a pretty necklace like us girls?

Okay fine. I guess if I really did see Chris squealing excitedly over a plushie, it'd mean I have bigger things to worry about.

But anyway! I honestly think I've run out of good, within- my- budget, meaningful gifts. I could write him a sweet and romantic note...but I've probably already given him 30 of those by now. I'm not willing to give him something ridiculously expensive either, like a branded watch. It just doesn't make sense to me when essentially whatever I have in my purse now is from my parents, and I don't think my parents were planning on getting Chris a Tag Heuer anytime soon. Better gifts will come his way when I make my own money. If I make enough.

HELP.

Maybe I'll just give him a hug :)

Lazy Updates

I came to my blog so many times today (and yesterday and the day before!) with every intention of clicking on the 'New Post' button and getting started on actually blogging things I've been wanting to since...forever ago.

I blame it on work! The last thing on my mind after work is blogging. The first, is to eat and sleep :) But I paid a visit to my bestie, Jane's blog and I felt a sudden guilt for being such a poor blogger. Jane, you are an inspiration! Haha. No, really :)

This post might be long. As mentioned earlier, there were plenty of things I had wanted to blog about but just never got around to.

This post might be short. As mentioned earlier, I am also a very lazy blogger and may choose to cut myself off should my fingers feel tired.

*Blogging was momentarily interrupted when my big toe slid into a nice piece of wood from the parquet floors. Ouch. Had a quick little 'surgery' and I'm back!*

Work was good. It was an enjoyable experience. So the remainder of this post shall be dedicated to the things I learnt and pictures of the great friends I made.

Things I walked home with (apart from free make-up and notebooks!):

#1: There will always be people who want to bite you in the behind (and whom you also want to kick in the behind) but you just have to learn to shake them off- with style and class. *flips hair*

#2: It only takes a moment to make a wonderful group of friends.

#3: I actually drink coffee. Only iced though. Early mornings and half-opened eyes led me to it. Like nicotine through my veins. And no, I'm not advocating cigarettes.

#4: It takes a couple of guys, labouring over image after image from 9-6, in a special DI (digital imaging) room to make people look prettier than they actually are. Beauty sells..and you know it.

#5: The Devil doesn't Wear Prada at all.

What I've Been Up To...

I haven't been updating these past few weeks because:
1. there's nothing interesting going on...ever
2. I'm plain ol' lazy

Work has been quite tiring. It's fun...but I absolutely hate waking up in the mornings. I'm someone who needs 12 hours of sleep to properly function. Some days, I'll be busy running around malls and boutiques to get clothes or return them (which I super hate 'cos it's the least value adding thing ever!) Some days, my eyes get tired after staring at the computer too long. Usually get a headache after lunch when the carbs start sinking in and I get sleepy.

On other days though, I'm pretty free in the office so I just surf the net. And if I'm lucky, I come across real gems online. I've been trying to draw/illustrate some of these cute little things that I come across..be it in magazines, internet, books..whatever! I love black ink over white pages! :)

2 most recent things: cute miniature vintage camera selling online, and characters on coasters sold on Etsy.

Yesterday, I spent HOURS following my magazine's fashion assistant to source for clothes. As an intern, my working hours are from 9am- 6pm for RM30 a day. (Yes I know it's not much. It's not pay, it's allowance. Your pay basically equals the experience you gain) Yesterday, I ended at 8.30pm. And I was left alone in Bangsar. My colleague couldn't fetch me back 'cos she had to continue sourcing (she's got it even tougher than I) I was so emo- which was a sign that my period is coming- till I actually felt like crying. WHAT! PMS LAH OKAY?! If you're a guy reading this, back off. Us girls can't control our capricious hormones!

SO anyway...I was walking aroung Bangsar Village- waiting for my parents to pick me- when I saw this very kitsch little cafe called bijoux. AND THEY HAD ADORABLE CUPCAKES. and they were RM5 each..but that information is secondary.

I bought 3 and I was happy again :)

ps: I recently came across a very helpful website called Rollip. It .helped me with all my photos today; giving them that vintage-y effect. Sure you can do it with Photoshop, but that'd take much longer and your results may not be consistent all the time. It's just 2 clicks of a button with Rollip! Quite literally :)

Malacca Is Yums

OCF 50th Convention:Malacca 9-131209

The weekend brought Chris and I to Malacca for the convention to join the rest who had already been there since Wednesday. It was nice to come together again, meeting a few Claytonites and also seeing those familiar faces from Easter Camp last April. Reunited and it feels so good *hum hum*

It was a blast! I love Malacca! I love the FOOD in Malacca!

Food aside, of course the main reason to go to Malacca was for something bigger than that lah okay? It was to celebrate such a momentous occasion; OCF turning 50! 50 years of international students, 50 years of 'Reaching Out, Building Up and Sending Back', 50 years of God's goodness, 50 years of God's grace.

It's amazing to see so many generations of past OCF-ers coming together under one roof worshiping one God. Inspirational is what it is.

It's been getting pretty warm here in Melbourne. Usually, I love the sun. And I think it's also safe to say that the sun loves me a tad too much. Truly enjoys offering me a good tan :(

Been doing some shopping lately. Told myself I probably shouldn't shop too much considering the fact that I'll be going home soon and clothes back home are way cheaper! So much for that thought. Heh. Should have known better :)

Tuesday, 17th: Posing at the mirrors in Crown. The boys chimed, "Such a Malaysian girl thing to do!" when I flipped my camera out for pictures :D It was Ken's last day as an exchange student at Melbourne. Byebye kege!

Ps: Super heart my new shoes from Scooter! I've never purchased any shoes from Scooter cos they're always so overpriced. But these shoes are special and they tugged at my heart strings! I had no choice! (At least they were on discount, albeit a somewhat minimal discount)

Had good catch ups with friends in the city, but no pictures there :(

OCF Thanksgiving ball tomorrow! By the beach ooh yeah. My cell group's theme: Rock!! Fun fun fun. This is going to be my 3rd and last one. I can't believe 3 whole years have gone by so quickly. I still remember the details of my very first day here in Melbourne. Sigh. Well, one more semester left and then off I go. Yay!

Random Updates For The Week

1. I am finally assignment free for the rest of the semester. My group and I handed in our 2nd and final assignment for Financial Analysis and Valuation (otherwise known as the most cursed subject available to mankind). We got our assignment in about 10 minutes late...but JUST in time before it was officially considered "late". If you know what I'm saying. So praise the Lord!

2. I have been having trouble sleeping at nights. I hop into bed around 1-2 am and I toss and turn for about 2 hours before I actually fall asleep. Then, I can't wake up in the morning. Such a vicious cycle it is. Doesn't help that daylight savings has ended (or begun, I never know) and Chris is now 3 hours away from me so by the time we've spoken on the phone, it's past midnight. (Green tea probably doesn't help either. And afternoon naps)

3. 100 sit-ups a day (etc). My new "pilates" routine that I have been rather scrupulously sticking to. I want to get toned. Not skinny, no. Toneddddd. Because toned= damn-diggity-hot. Ooh yeah.

4. I could do with a good bowl of pan mee right now. Mmm..and a side of that crazy awesome chilli :) Mr Nasi Lemak, Ms Laksa, Mdm Fried Rice..you might wanna start running cos I'll be home faster than you can say "No!!! Don't eat..*gulp* ..........me. "

5. I want to go to Bangkok! I want to shop. I want to pack my luggage(s) with goodies after goodies that will last me.....approximately 3 months :D Anybody been there? Shopping heaven or overrated pasar malam? Where are the good places? ANYBODY??

6. I'm getting closer to my dream/hope/desire. Said dream/hope/desire shall remain secret lest dream/hope/desire does not eventuate. But I'm working hard at it and I really hope it happens. All up to the Big Guy now. (pretty please????)

Girls, admit it. We love to whine. It's inherent within our DNA. We can't help it.

We whine about our bodies. " Ughh...I'm so fat! " *points to non-existent bulge*
" Why can't I have legs like Heidi Klum's?! "

We whine about our clothes. " I desspeeeraately need new shoes! " ('cos 10 pairs aren't enough)
" Ugh! Stupid girl has the Chanel handbag I want! " *coughcough*

And of course,
We whine about/to our men. " Why can't you be more expressive/affectionate? "
" Do you love me or not!? "
" My boyfriend doesn't call me enough! "
Bla bla bla you get the point.

Pity our poor men who have to suffer all of it. If us girls don't whine about our bodies or clothes, we'd definitely still have plenty to say about our boyfriends. Let me illustrate:

Girls get together for a night out without their other halves and what do they talk about? Their other halves. We whine over wine, compare our boyfriends and finally come up with two conclusions:
1) There's no such thing as the perfect boyfriend
2) We [still] love our flawed boyfriends anyway :)

Who knows? Whatever it is, they bond over beer and probably come up with these two conclusions:
1) Megan Fox is hot.
2) " Eh hungry. Let's go mamak. "

It often crosses my mind how different men and women are. And each time I think about it, I laugh. Guys can be so......UGH sometimes! There's just no word for it. Sorry guys, but you really just don't get us girls at ALL sometimes. What goes in one ear, comes out the other. Case in point:

Me: We whine because you guys never listen! Okay let me give you an example. If say, I have a broken sink in my house, I'm going to call the plumber to fix it right? But after calling him once, he doesn't show. Twice, he still doesn't show. So obviously I'm going to call until he comes to fix it because that sink's really important to me, right?

BF: So what's his reward for coming? Plumber comes, you'd have to pay him right?

Me: Yes. Payment shall come in the form of hugs and kisses. And less whining :)

BF: OH! So you're just going to tell the plumber "Thanks for coming! I'll call you less next time!" If you're not going to pay him at least give him sex lah!

She used to annoy me. I couldn't stand the way she spoke; so slurred and slow. But I like it now! She's different and she's cute. Take a listen to her band's music; She & Him. (Has been my ringtone for the past 8 months :D)

I just spent over an hour on this site.. putting looks together. It's like those little paper dolls you used to play with as a little girl, only 100x more sophisticated. This is one of the best lookbook website I've ever used. The clothes fit perfectly on all the models and it's got different effects and settings. Heaps of fun! Made me feel like fashion stylist/magazine editor/creative director.
